Painting the Flora and Fauna of the Pacific NW
532 NE 3rd Street
Nathalie Equall lives and paints in Cedar Hills, a suburb of Portland Oregon. Accompanied by Bubba Jones, her rescued American Shelter Dog, she paints the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and its occupants. When the weather cooperates she paints en plein air (outdoors).
Nathalie paints primarily with soft pastel on archival sanded paper, usually over an underpainting of oil paint and mineral spirits. She loves the immediate gratification that pastels provide with their ability to be applied in multiple layers of rich, creamy color that require no drying time, and their archival qualities. She finds pastels to be the perfect portable medium for plein air painting.
Nathalie is an award winning artist who participates in regional fine art shows, invitational art competitions, and plein air events. She is a member of Oregon Society of Artists, and Portland Painter’s Showcase. She is represented by Currents Gallery in McMinnville OR.
